Bytown Triathlon camps and clinics provide kids aged 6-16 with the opportunity to experience endurance sports training in a safe progressive and well structured format.   All camp programs are designed Certified Sport Strength and NCCP-CBET certified triathlon coach Greg Kealey.  Camps have a maximum 7 to 1 participant to instructor ratio.  All instructors are experienced triathlete's.  Camp objectives are to introduce skill sets for multi sport events including, cardio endurance, core strength, balance and coordination and sport agility and strength, through drills, games, events and relays.

   Location: Glen Carin Outdoor Pool
   Cost: BTC members - $  89.00
           Non members -  $109.00
   This Camp is for the experienced triathlete 12-14 years old.  Advanced skill development
includes introduction to drafting,open water sighting and run strength and skills.

 The best introduction to endurance sports anywhere.  Our experienced triathletes and coaches provide fun, safe, exciting training for kids of all skill levels.  Learn swim skills, bike safety skills and run skills, improve sport strength and movement and improve our endurance.

FAQ:

What happens in the average day?
The kids start the day with what we call a friendship run, 5min at a very easy pace where they can run with a friend and talk and joke around, it's a great warmup time. We then do some strength training exercises(squats, pushups, crunches etc) and do some light stretching.
9:30-10:30 - running - skill intro, drills, games finishes with contests and
 relays
10:30-10:45 - morning break
10:45- 12noon - biking - skill intro, bike safety, rules of the road, relay races or longer ride (age appropriate)
12:noon - 12:30 lunch
12:30 - 1:45 - Transition Zone practice - rules, getting on/off bike, running with the bike
1:45-2:00 - afternoon break
2:00 - 2;45 - free time, organized runs, rides and games, athletes choose what they would like to do.
2:45- 3:45 - swimming
4:00 - end of day, pick up
