Bytown Storm Rocks Lac Leamy Ontario Junior Elite Championships

On Saturday July 12th The Ontario Junior Elite Championships were held at Lac Leamy Quebec. The weather was great, the course was fast and challenging and the results were excellent. The team was well represented on the mens side by Matt Vierula, Andrew Courchene and Nick Gregory. The womans event included Jade Gregory and Joanna Brown.
As part of the Triathlon Canada Junior Elite race series there were athletes from B.C, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. On the men's side Matt Vierula continued his winning ways being the first Ontario Junior across the finish line to take Gold,(third overall) not far behind was Andrew Courchene taking bronze both Matt and Andrew are Storm Triathlon members. Ian Donald took silver, Ian is a Team Ontario member and is coached by Craig Taylor.
On the womans side both Jade and Joanna had a great time participating in thier first ever draft legal race and gained important experience at the Junior Elite level. Joanna had the second best run time of the day taking the bronze medal on the womans side. At the end of the day Storm Triathlon members took home 3 of 6 Provincial Championship spots. GREAT RACING EVERYONE
