TRIATHLON DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Development Program is the perfect place to start a young athlete's introduction to the sport of triathlon or to supplement the athlete's fitness and athletic pursuits while participating in other sports.  The development program provides up to 6 hours of coached training per week.  The focus of the development program is introducing the skill sets for swimming, cycling and running as well as teaching these young athletes about the sport of triathlon and installing a passion for an healthy, active lifestyle.
Program Objective:
The main focus of the program shifts from season to season to follow a structured progression that changes throughout the year.  The Fall Winter program will focus on swimming, strength and XC running as we move into our Spring and Summer sessions we will begin to prepare athletes for the upcoming race season with the ultimate goal of having our athletes begin racing in the Triathlon Ontario Youth Race Series.

Spring / Summer Schedule ( April 1st to August 30th 2019)

(please note locations of some practices change in June, days and times remain the same when possible)
Mondays - 5:30pm - 6:30pm - Kanata Recreation Centre (run practice)
Wednesdays - 6:00pm - 7:00pm - Richcraft Pool ( swim practice)

Saturdays* - 2:00pm - 2:45pm - Nepean Sportsplex (run practice)

                    3:00pm - 4:15pm - Nepean Sportsplex (swim practice)

Sundays* - 8:00am - 9:00am - Goulbourn Pool (swim Practice)

*= Sat and Sun. practices are subject to change during summer race season

Cost - $799.00 + hst (23 weeks)

training fees will be split into 2 equal payments upon completed registration.  First payment upon registration, 2nd installment beginning of June 2019)

TRIATHLON PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Partnering with Triathlon Ontario, we are offering a Competitive training program that provides athletes with coaching, sport science, medical and performance support that is integrated in to every high performance program. Training to perform at the highest levels of any sport takes experienced coaching, proper training environment and world class IST (integrated supprt team) support.  For the past 10 years our most competitive athletes have received un-parralled support from our partners:

The Bytown PDP program is developed for full time triathletes with developed training skills that are looking to improve performance and pursue racing successfully beyond the Provincial level and prepare themselves for National and International competition.


Training include 9+ coached training hours per week,

  • Personal programming,
  • Sport science support,
  • Nutritional support,
  • Performance tracking
  • Biomechanical Assessments

INTRODUCTION TO TRIATHLON PROGRAM

This 8 (eight) week program is an Introduction to training for a triathlon.  Program includes pool and open water swims*, cycling, run and transition practices.  The program runs from Saturday April 13th 2019 to Saturday June 8th 2019

- program for ages 9 to 12 years old

- Athletes needs to be able to swim a minimum of 50m freestyle without interruption

- must have all cycling equipment in good working order

Schedule -

Wednesday - 6pm Swimming  - Richcraft Recreation Centre

Saturdays - 2pm Running and 3pm Swimming - Nepean Sportsplex

COST - $199.00 + hst
